Guardians- I swear I will not dishonor my soul with hatred, but offer myself humbly as a guardian of nature, as a healer of misery, as a messenger of wonder, as an architect of peace.

Blogging on my own time.

I have questioned this whole “blogging” concept. I set one up for my journalism class at my school and it’s been successful, but always wondered if anyone would want to read anything I have to write on a more personal level. One of the many reasons  I also don’t personally care to post exactly what I’m doing at the moment or put stupid picture just as a post. I am passionate about writing and I feel like I need this. You will be introduced to my wild rants and my love for challenge. My main love, next to clothing, is education.

So, it’s summertime. I’m an English teacher/Professional Talbots sweater folder/fiance. Needless to say, I asked for summer hours at Talbots because I get so bored just sitting around and why not have some play money, along with a pretty sweet discount. I definitely have been working my tail off and honestly, I’m exhausted.

Here in Raleigh they publish a newspaper called Skirt. I grab one every chance I get. In the latest (and last) paper, the theme was saying “YES!” to things that you wouldn’t normally consider doing (aka: stepping out of your comfort zone). I figured this would be a great first post. At the end, they ask “What’s on your YES list?” Here it goes…

Yes! I’m getting married in 9 months! Yes! I will keep up with my blog. Yes! Zac and I moved into an awesome new condo! Yes! I have a job for next year! Yes! I won’t take “no” for an answer. Yes! I will try to reduce clutter and stop leaving my clothes piled away. Yes! I will try to stop worrying about my weight. Yes! I will meet new people! Yes! I will take time to read more. Yes! I will make more road trips to visit friends. YES! I will add on to this list…

Okay, so that is how this is going to go.
